MESA RIM - Reno, NV USA
Mesa Rim and Entre-Prises USA have officially shaken hands to begin work on a high-end custom climbing facility in Reno, Nevada. Based out of San Diego, Mesa Rim is a fitness facility centered on full body strength and health through yoga, climbing, and professional training equipment. This will be their fourth facility; they first opened a gym in San Diego in 2010 along with a training facility, and finished their second climbing/fitness gym just last fall also with Entre-Prises.
The new Mesa Rim facility will feature over 22,000+ square feet of exceptionally designed climbing terrain along with a yoga studio, a wide range of fitness equipment, and locker rooms. This amount of space means over 300 climbers can be active simultaneously. Climbing specific features include routes up to 52 feet high, a free standing boulder, and training walls. The focus of the design is to provide an exceptional experience whether the user is a beginner walking in for the first time or a world-class athlete looking to push their limits.
Mesa Rim Reno will be constructed close to the Reno airport at the corner of Yale Way and Harvard Way. This new location is collaboration between the owners of the Climbing Business Journal, Mike Helt and Marlowe Kulley. Like the rest of the country indoor climbing has become more and more popular in the state of Nevada. According to Ian McIntosh, general manager of Mesa Rim Climbing Center,
"We feel the Reno area is the perfect location for a modern indoor climbing facility that can serve not only as a place to climb and train, but as a community hub for outdoor and fitness enthusiasts in the Reno-Sparks metro area," Ian McIntosh, partner/general manager of Mesa Rim Climbing Center, said in a news release.
As it’s climbing wall partner Mesa Rim has once again selected Entre-Prises USA who are already familiar with the Reno area. Just in 2011 Entre-Prises completed another notable climbing wall on the face of the Whitney Peak Hotel in Reno that reaches a height of 164 feet. “We couldn’t be more happy with the team we’ve been working with,” said Mike Helt, Operations Director for Mesa Rim Reno. “They’ve worked tirelessly to bring our dream into reality and have created a very unique destination that will become a landmark for the Reno area.”
“Here at Entre Prises we are proud as always to provide an unmatched product through a positive collaborative effort for the people we ultimately work for – climbers.” Says Todd Chester of Entre Prises. Construction of the climbing walls is expected to begin this fall.
